• Payment information — billing details collected when you purchase a membership (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store raw card details)
• Background check information — personal details required to conduct a background check, processed by our verified third-party background check provider
• Communications — messages you send us via our contact form or email

• Basic website usage data such as pages visited and time spent (only if analytics are enabled)
• Device and browser type for technical troubleshooting

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

• To review your assessment profile and identify compatible matches within our member base
• To make curated introductions — with your consent — to other members whose profiles complement yours
• To send you your assessment results and any follow-up communications related to your membership
• To process your membership payment and manage your account
• To conduct the background check required for all paid members
• To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
• To improve our assessment methodology and matching process (using anonymised, aggregated data only)

4. Sensitive Personal Data

Our assessments collect information that may be considered sensitive personal data, including psychological profile data (Attachment Style, Connection Type, Defense Style, Love Language, and Values). This information is treated with the highest level of care and confidentiality.

By completing the assessment, you provide your explicit consent to MDM collecting and using this information for the sole purpose of facilitating compatible introductions. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.

Sensitive data is never shared with third parties except as described in Section 5, and is never shared with other members without your prior explicit consent to a specific introduction.

5. Sharing Your Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With your consent: When you agree to a specific introduction, we share a curated summary of your profile (not your raw assessment data) with the other member involved
• Background check providers: We share necessary identity information with our verified third-party background check provider solely for the purpose of conducting your background check
• Payment processors: Your payment information is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not store raw payment card data
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or in response to lawful requests from public authorities
• Safety: We may share information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our members or others

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes under any circumstances.

6. Background Checks

All paid MDM members are required to complete a background check before receiving introductions. This check is conducted by a vetted third-party provider and covers criminal history and identity verification.

Background check results are reviewed only by the MDM team. They are never shared with other members. The results inform our team's decision-making around member safety but are not shared in any introduction note or profile summary.

By enrolling as a paid member, you provide your explicit consent to the background check process. If you do not pass the background check, you will be notified and your membership will not proceed. Fees paid prior to the background check result may be subject to our refund policy.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

• Assessment data and profile information is retained for the duration of your active membership and for up to 2 years after your last interaction with MDM
• Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years)
• Background check data is retained for the duration of your membership and deleted within 90 days of account closure
• Photos are deleted within 30 days of account closure upon request
• Contact form messages are retained for up to 2 years

You may request deletion of your data at any time. See Section 8 for your rights.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to correction — you may request that we correct any inaccurate information
• Right to deletion — you may request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent to process data, you may withdraw it at any time
• Right to data portability — you may request your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal data, but California residents may exercise this right under CCPA
